Why Yoga

Ideal at any age, but especially important as we get older

I like to say that I teach yoga for those that want to be happy and healthy. As a yoga teacher I have students of all ages and I see the benefits this practice has.  Balance, flexibility, strength, injury recovery, confidence in our body, weight management, relaxation, sleep and focus are areas that will improve with regular practice of yoga.

The most common comment I hear when I meet a student for the first time is:" I would like to practice yoga, but I don't think I can, as my hands don't reach the floor ". There is this misconception that yoga is for young woman with flexible bodies in beautiful pictures. In fact, it is for them and for everybody else too. I teach and coach a wide range of students from, young woman and man wanting to complement their sports practice, recent mums who want to come back to their normal shape, busy executives and retired people, 60-year-old women and man doing their first class and not stopping since, 80 years old people loving their classes, couples, groups of friends and families. They all have one thing in common, they want to be happy, stay healthy, flexible and strong.  My classes are small, so I can focus on you and your goals, guiding you through the poses and adjusting to your needs.

I started practicing yoga in my twenties and I use to practice Ashtanga Yoga (an active type of yoga flow). I become a teacher in my thirties for a specific sequence called Atmananda Yoga where mats are marked to your body size to help you positioning correctly in the mat. Later I become one of the certified teachers for Primordial Sound Meditation and Perfect Health from the Deepack Chopra school. I have done many upgrades and courses since then, and today, I teach yoga that can be done by all.

My classes are targeted to your level and goals and are uncomplicated. You don't need to be vegetarian, alcohol free nor even flexible to attend. You just need to show up.

Group classes

In Villa Tranberg from April to September 2023

Group classes are open to everybody  (Villa guests and  non-guests) and are  held in Villa Tranberg's studio during spring and summer months, with 4 classes weekly and two styles of class:

Yoga for all - a powerful class appropriate to everyone, focusing on gentle movement, stretching and strength. 

Yoga flow - a more energetic class focusing in increasing your stamina.

For hygienic reasons, please bring your own mat.

Classes are in portuguese and english.

1 Class - 15 Euros

Private classes

Start or upgrade your yoga practice

Either staying for just a few nights or a longer stay, we can organise private yoga classes that suit your schedule. Specially thought to those trhat want to start yoga, but never had the opportunity to try, or advanced students that want to reconnect, classes are tailored to your level and can be booked in advance or during your stay.

 

We can organise  for yoga mats if you need (*). You just need to bring your clothes.

Private classes

Private classes can be share by one or two persons. Many couples start they practice at the Villa and take the skills to continue a daily routine once they get back home.

​

Prices per class are 70 Euros for 1 hour private class.

Yoga retreats

Leave recharged

Spend a week with us  for our yoga retreat programme and you will leave recharged. Our programme is developed to give you the relaxation and calmness, so much required nowadays.

​

Villa Tranberg's yoga retreats are ideal to connect with yoga. Both beginners and advanced students, will find a private and safe environment for their practice in Villa Tranberg.

Many of our students start yoga late in their life and are surprised with the benefits. During a week's retreat you will learn in practice the benefits of yoga and meditation to your health and how it can benefit the body for later stages of life. 

​

With only four students at a time, you'll feel safe, have fun, and enjoy the teacher's dedicated attention. The day is structured to allow you to both emerge in yoga  and to also have free time. A typical day will include a more active morning yoga class, free afternoon and light yoga and late afternoon meditation.

​

During the week youwill learn how to set up your own yoga routine, as well as different breathing and meditation techniques, which will stay with you for life. You'll find time to disconnect from daily routines, redefine and recharge your body and mind.

​

During your stay, we will provide breakfast/brunch, light lunch and dinner. Meals are based on Mediterranean traditions, including fish, meat and wine. Special needs can be accommodated upon request.

Ideal for couples and friends

The price for one week retreat is 1.550 € per person. The price includes 7 nights accommodation, 2 people sharing   one of the Villa's suites  (king size or twin beds) , all meals, free bar and  daily yoga programme including, movement practice, breathing and mediation exercises.

May 27 to Jun 3

September 16 to September 23

October 7 to October 14

If you have a group of four people and would like to have your own private retreat, please contact us on reservations@villatranberg.com to organise dates and any specific requirements.  We are open for retreats in January, April, May and June, September and October.
